CHRIST AMBASSADORS
CA’s or Christ Ambassadors is a ministry to the youth of the church for fellowship, growth and encouragement. The youth group meets on Friday evenings at 6:30 PM. Activities include softball, volleyball, various outdoor games, refreshments, devotions, etc.
THE SANCTUARY CHOIR
The Sanctuary Choir is an adult choir (age 21 +) that meets Sunday evenings one hour before service for rehearsal. The Sanctuary choir usually ministers in the Sunday evening worship service.
ORCHESTRA
The orchestra consists of brass, wind and string instruments accompanied by drums, bass and piano. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings or Sunday afternoons. The 20 – 25 piece band plays for the offertory in all three weekly services.
PUPPET TEAMS
The puppet teams practice on Tuesday evenings and use their skits and songs in Junior Church, the Father’s House, kids crusades, street meetings, etc. They have also been invited to perform at festivals, youth camps and VBS events for many churches in the valley.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Study of the Bible is an important part of the Sunday morning worship at Riverdale Assembly of God. All teachers are trained in an intensive workshop where they are inspired to go beyond the podium style presentation of the Gospel. Over the last few years, the staff has been steadily writing our own curriculum. You will find exciting and inspiring Sunday School classes on Sunday morning!
MINUTE MEN
From the early history of the church, the men and boys have reached out to many churches to assist in their building projects. A new sanctuary, new roof, remodel, tile, electric, plumbing, painting, sheetrock…you name it and they’ve done it! The name “Minute Men” came about in Mexico where the crew has constructed around seven churches. The missionary called them her “Minute Men” because of the speed in which they constructed the churches. They would arrive on the Friday morning after Thanksgiving (after riding all night on a bus) and would immediately begin building. Starting with nothing but a slab of concrete, the men would work around the clock and by Saturday afternoon, the church would be completed! The ministry has been a blessing to not only area churches but also ministries in Nevada, Oklahoma, Missouri, Mexico, Guatemala and Haiti.
PRISON MINISTRY
Reaching out to the men, women and youth in our local jails and detention centers is important. Over the years, the church conducted worship services and Bible studies for the nearby prison farm until its recent closing. With the opening of the youth detention center in Fresno, our chaplain is now hosting Sunday morning services in the new facility.
