INTRODUCTION — “Now What?”
- Series Review:
- Live in Resurrection Identity
- Walk in Resurrection Power
- Join the Resurrection Mission
- Today: Live with Resurrection Hope
Key Truth:
The resurrection is not the end—it is the beginning.
- Hope is not:
- Wishful thinking
- Optimism
- “Things might get better”
- Biblical Hope (elpis):
- Confident expectation
- Anchored in the empty tomb
Big Question:
If Jesus rose from the dead, how should we live?
1. Because He Rose, Death Is Defeated
Text: 1 Corinthians 15:51–58
A. Death Is No Longer the Final Word
- “Death is swallowed up in victory”
- Death has lost its power
Implications:
- Death is no longer a wall → it’s a doorway
- No longer a period → a comma
- No longer the end → the beginning
B. The Resurrection Is God’s Guarantee
- The empty tomb = God’s signature
Because He rose:
- Your future is secure
- Your salvation is certain
- Your eternity is guaranteed
2. Hope Shapes How We Suffer and Endure
Text: 1 Peter 1:3–5
A. A Living Hope
- Alive because Jesus is alive
- Sustains and carries us
B. Hope Reframes Suffering
- Suffering is temporary
- Glory is eternal
- Trials refine, not define
- Pain has purpose
C. Hope Gives Endurance
- Hope is “kept in heaven”
- Not dependent on:
- Emotions
- Circumstances
- Personal strength
3. Resurrection Hope Is Empowerment (Not Escapism)
A. Hope Pushes Us Into the World
- We shine in darkness
- We walk forward without fear
- We advance, not retreat
B. Hope Empowers Obedience
- Courage over fear
- Faithfulness over temptation
- Generosity over scarcity
- Love over hatred
C. Hope Fuels Mission
- The resurrection is a public message
- The church grows through resurrection power
4. The Resurrection Begins New Creation
Text: Revelation 21:1–5
A. God Is Making All Things New
- Not all new things → all things renewed
B. Resurrection Is a Preview
- Jesus = prototype of what’s coming
- His victory = our future
C. The Story Ends in Restoration
- New heaven and new earth
- God dwelling with His people
- No death, sorrow, or pain
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
1. Face Trials with Resurrection Perspective
3. Live in Light of Eternity
- This pain is real—but not permanent
- This valley is deep—but not final
- This battle is hard—but victory is sure
2. Practice Hope Daily
A. Worship
- Lifts eyes to the risen Christ
B. Gratitude
- Recognizes God’s work now
C. Community
- Isolation weakens hope
- Fellowship strengthens hope
3. Live in Light of Eternity
- Forgive more freely
- Give more generously
- Pursue holiness
- Engage in mission urgently
CONCLUSION — “Now What?”
Because Jesus rose:
- Death is defeated
- Hope is alive
- Suffering is reframed
- Mission is empowered
- New creation has begun
Final Call:
Live with resurrection hope—today.
Closing Thought
The tomb is empty… So live like it.
