Resurrection Mission

The resurrection launches the church into mission. Jesus didn’t rise so we could sit — He rose so we could be sent.

I. The Great Commission Is Rooted in Resurrection Authority

Matthew 28:18–20
  •  Jesus declares His resurrection authority before giving the mission
  • The risen Christ sends us with His power, not our own
  • The Great Commission is not optional — it is the command of the risen King

II. The Resurrection Turns Disciples From Fearful to Fearless

John 20:21–22
  • Before the resurrection: hiding behind locked doors  
  • After the resurrection: preaching in the streets  
  • Jesus breathes the Spirit on them — new courage, new purpose, new mission

III. Mission Is the Natural Overflow of Resurrection Life

John 20:21
  • “As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you”  
  • Every believer is a missionary in their everyday world  
  • Mission is not an event — it is a lifestyle  

IV. Evangelism Is a Lifestyle Shaped by Resurrection Hope

  • Evangelism is sharing what the resurrection has done in you  

V. Practical Application: How to Join the Resurrection Mission

1. Identify One Person to Pray For and Reach Out To 
  • Ask God for one name  
  • Pray intentionally  
  • Take one step of love or conversation  

2. Practice “Resurrection Hospitality” 
  • Open your home, table, schedule, and life  
  • Hospitality creates space for the gospel  

3. Share Your Testimony as a Resurrection Story 
  • Your story is evidence of resurrection power  
  • Share how Jesus brought you from death to life

  • The resurrection is not the end — it is the beginning of the mission  
  • Jesus rose, Jesus reigns, and Jesus sends  
  • We were not saved to sit; we were saved to be sent
