The Limits of Evil
INTRO
- A queen murders an entire royal bloodline
- Darkness sits on the throne
- The promise of God looks erased
POINT 1: EVIL HAS AUTHORITY—BUT ONLY TEMPORARILY
2 Kings 11:1–3 (KJV)
“…Athaliah did reign over the land.” (v.3)
Six years… that’s all she gets.
- Evil can rise
- Evil can rule
- Evil can intimidate
But evil cannot endure
“If it's not eternal, it's already expiring.”
POINT 2: EVIL WORKS PUBLICLY—BUT GOD PRESERVES PRIVATELY
2 Kings 11:2–3 (KJV)
While evil is ruling publicly…
God is working quietly behind the scenes
“Silence in your life does not mean absence—it means preparation.”
God is working quietly behind the scenes
“Silence in your life does not mean absence—it means preparation.”
POINT 3: EVIL CAN OCCUPY A POSITION—BUT IT CANNOT POSSESS THE FUTURE
2 Kings 11:4–8 (KJV)
He didn’t become king…
He was always the king
POINT 4: EVIL CAN DELAY—BUT IT CANNOT DENY
2 Kings 11:17–20 (KJV)
- Covenant restored
- Idols destroyed
- Order returned
“What evil delays, God delivers at the appointed time.”
POINT 5: EVIL WILL MISLABEL TRUTH WHEN IT LOSES CONTROL
2 Kings 11:13–14 (KJV)
The one who stole the throne…calls truth “treason”
FINAL DECLARATION
“Evil has limits… but God does not.”
