Core Idea:

Key Scriptures
  • Luke 19:1–10 — Zacchaeus: Jesus sees the overlooked.
  • John 4:1–30 — The Woman at the Well: Jesus pursues the hurting.
  • John 15:15 — “I have called you friends.”

Main Points

1. No one is too far for Jesus.
Zacchaeus was morally compromised and socially rejected — yet Jesus called him by name and entered his home.
2. Jesus notices the overlooked.
The Samaritan woman was isolated and ashamed — yet Jesus crossed every barrier to meet her at the well.
3. Jesus is a pursuing, relational Savior.
He doesn’t wait for people to come to Him.
He goes to them.
He sees the one.
4. Evangelism begins with relationship.
Jesus starts with conversation, compassion, and presence — not pressure.

Who’s Your One?

Jesus changed the world one person at a time.
He still does.
This week, prayerfully identify one person in your life who needs the hope of Christ.
Pray for them daily.
Look for ways to love them intentionally.
Trust Jesus to open the door.

Reflection Questions

  1. Who in my life feels overlooked, unseen, or far from God?
  1. How has Jesus drawn close to me when I felt unworthy?
  1. What simple step can I take this week to build a relationship with my “one”?
  1. How can I reflect the friendship of Jesus to others?

Prayer for the Week

“Lord Jesus, thank You for being the greatest friend — the One who moves toward me when others move away. Give me Your eyes to see the one person You’re calling me to love. Help me draw close, listen well, and reflect Your heart. Use me to bring Your hope to someone who needs You. Amen.”
